Kenosis Women Rehab Center

Located in Miri, Sarawak, it is a social ministry started by Cornerstone Borneo in partnership with BEM Sarawak and SIBKL. It focuses on rehabilitation of female drug addicts so they can return to the society to live a normal life.

Kenosis mission is to provide excellent service with supporting programmes to help the students to restore their self-dignity through learning training and equipping.

Our vision

Kenosis Sarawak is a Christian non-governmental organisation (NGO) focusing on wholesome restoration of drug addicts so they could return to the society to live a normal life.

Our mission

We strive to give excellent support and care to our students in their journey towards full restoration through the 9 + 3 months programme (9 in house rehabilitation and 3 months attached to a job), we hope to restore their identity, dignity, health & discipline to a drug-free life so they could return to society and live a purpose-driven live.

How we started?

KWC Centre is located in Miri at a private addressed that cannot be let known to the public for safety purposes. It’s launching date is on the 25th February 2023 (SAT) in response to the cries of mothers and fathers from the under-served Orang Asal community who “lost” their sons & daughters to substance abuse even at longhouses deep in the interior of Sarawak.

Kenosis Sarawak Men’s Rehab (KS) was established on 1st December 2015. After many enquires from families who are looking for a place to send their daughters, Pr Gilbert and Mr Simon Emang (Chairman) mooted the idea to Cornerstone Borneo to start a Kenosis Women Rehab Centre in January 2022.

KWC is the first Christian Women Rehab Centre in Sarawak and the second one in Malaysia. KWC is managed by Pastor Manager, Rachel K. Bulan with 1 Operational full time wardens (Ps Daffeny David) who were successful graduates of Malaysia Evangelical Theological Seminary, Miri (METS Miri).

The word "Kenosis" comes from the Greek of Philippians 2:7, which says that Jesus "emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men"

How can you partner with us?

Donate equipment and tools.

We are in the midst of setting up the centre and establishing it. Most of our finances this year will go into renovating of the centre to be able to set up the facilities that are needed. Kitchen needs, classroom, gym and rooms.

Donate financially.

Our financial aid will enable us to further our cause by supporting costs for staff employment, expansion projects, agro-projects, purchasing better equipment and tools for skill training–the possibilities are limitless.

Sponsor a student.

Many of our students who enrol into the program come from low income families and may struggle to pay the required fees for the program. This fee is required to cover the costs of food, accommodation and the upkeep of facilities. You can choose to sponsor a student and help to oversee their progress here at the centre. You can sponsor a student with RM500 a month. You may commit to 3 months, 6 months or 12 months.
