Here are the next few steps that you can take towards this life transformation relationship with God:
Step 1: Join a Church Family
There are many verses in the Bible that mention the importance of a community and family in Christ. Here at Cornerstone Borneo, we celebrate each and every individual.

Congratulations! You have made one of the most important and life changing decisions of your life! We are excited for this new life that you started in the Lord.

We want to welcome you into the family of God. As you have prayed the SALVATION's prayer and received Jesus Christ into your heart, you have received not only His gift of peace and joy but also the power to overcome life dominating struggles.
Step 2: Know the Source of True Change
When Jesus comes into your life, He reveals who you truly are. The result? You change. Jesus engages each person and situation in a personalised way. There are sources of true change as God weaves these factors into your life as a new believer.
A) God Himself Changes You
"It is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13)

God intervenes in your life, turning your self-will life to His kingdom life. He raises you in Christ where you are dead in sin, making you a new creation in Him.

We have been given His Spirit. As we grow and walk in the Holy Spirit, virtues such as love, joy, peace, and patience amongst others will be evident in your life.
B) The Word of Truth Changes You
"God's Word is perfect in every way; how it revives our souls! His laws lead us to truth, and His ways change the simple into wise" (Psalm 19:7)

Our God is one who communicates even today! The Bible is one of the ways God speaks with you. It tells you of His personality, purposes, will, promises, and provides you answers to life's journey. The Bible is like a shinning light which guides you in your choices and decisions, giving you clarity to make wise decisions for your life.
C) Wise People Change You
"If you want to grow in wisdom, spend time with the wise. Walk in the wicked and you'll eventually become just like them" (Proverbs 13:20)

You will soon learn that you are not alone in this Christian journey. God has provided you with a family of believing brothers and sisters. No one is called to live alone. We have been designed for community.

Worship, hearing the preaching of God's word, bible studies and prayer are integral parts of your Christian lifestyle of which you will soon be accustomed to as you do life with this newfound community.

Jesus didn't promise you sunshine everyday after you become a Christian. However, He did promise that He would send you help in times of difficulties. One of the ways He does this is through your spiritual family!

D) Suffering, Struggle, and Troubles Change You
"Although Jesus was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered" (Hebrews 5:8)

God works in you during difficulties because these situations warrant your attention and cause your faith to grow.
Martin Luther called affliction, trial, difficulty, and struggle the "touchstone" of Christian experience. He said that hardships were his greatest teacher because they made the Bible and prayer come alive.

Difficulties point our need of Him. People change in tough times and not when things are all smooth sailing.

E) You Change
"You turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God" (1 Thessalonians 1:9)

We turn from darkness to light, from false gods to the only true God, from death to life, from unbelief to faith. You repent. You believe, trust, seek and take refuge.

You have an active role to play in this Christian journey. God has given you a free will to love and obey HIm. He does not make you a puppet or an artificial intelligent robot. We are responsible for our growth in Him, and as a Christian, you can rejoice in the transformation that God has made possible in your life.
